I know they are only 11 years old but I have been watching horror movies since I was 6 years old and I had a few nightmares but I liked getting scared and it never did any damage. I watch them to this day but they are not that scary to me anymore.

If your question is should u let them, just see how they behave around moderate suspense stuff like goosebumps on cartoon network but if you're trying to debate it out YES is the answers my mommy didn't want me to when i was little because i was already having violent and bloody nightmares but she did and now i love laughing when other people scream like chickens because they believe that it's real lol. Horror movies are a good way to appreciate reality. I watch all scary movies around Halloween even as i type my answer I'm watching children of the corn with my bro who's not such a hallo weenie lol so YES YES is a good answer

Try one of William Castle's original chillers from the '50's and early '60's; House on Haunted Hill, with Vincent Price, The Tingler, also with Price, or the original 13 Ghosts----the black-and-white tends to be a bit creepy for modern kids, the stories may make them laugh, but there are scary moments a-plenty, and enough unexplained weirdness and old-fashioned shocks to give them a good shiver. And a hint---don't tell them they're really scary, just put them on, and watch them get involved....

Stranger calling, its not very scary, but it sure got all my friends screaming...watch it ouside at night...and have a bug zapper thing going, like everytime the bug zaper would zap a bug we all would jump thinking it was the stranger coming to get the babysitter...watch the new one...its really good.

So what don't let them watch them. They will have bad dreams and freak out. Just wait till they are 13. Movies like the saw are going to seriously mess with their head.

John Carpenter's 1980 "The Fog". They will jump out of their skin.

I usually don't do PG-13 horror flicks, but I saw 1408 last week and I liked it.

That's too bad that they are "dumbed down" this much at 11. How about 'Old Yeller" or one of the other 'true' tales from our American past.
