I think the Federal Government need to go back to the Constitution and stop with the welfare programs, let the States take care of there people. Then the Federal Government could make enough money of tariffs where there would be no income tax.

it was written by great, brilliant men who understood the threat posed by large, intrusive government because they came to america specifically to get away from that, which they had their freedoms handicapped by in europe. they had great forsight into the future and knew how the government would evolve, and they wrote the constitution specifically to put a leash on the government for the purpose of protecting our rights. the problem today is that the constitution is largely ignored, and politicians get away with it because too many average people just don't care, or they like it that way because they have a fetish for big government telling people how to live their lives. read the constitution, and defend it against those who feel it's "outdated" or "irrelevent", which it most certainly is not.

The Constitution is the basic framework of the government, contains the rights of the people and provides for the procedure how the government interferes with the rights of the people.

It's the only thing protecting us from our government right now. Without it the Janet Reno's would burn us all out. And the John Kerry's would confiscate our guns. And the Harry Reid's would do away with freedom of speech. Now we need to add an amendment limiting how much money the government can steal from us by force. That will stop socialism and preserve freedom.
