Work or my brother but work would phone first and the ringer IS on and it had blooming well be an emergency for my brother to come this late and without half an hour's warning ... he knows the rule on that.

It is getting on for 5pm here in Colorado, USA and I would guess it would be a neighbour. If I was home with mum in Manchester UK, I wouldn't guess and wouldn't answer as it is too late.

Pretty late here so I hope it would be someone friendly! Might be our neighbour with some strange, slightly obscene-looking root vegetable he's grown on his vegetable patch. Not sure why but he likes to give them to us - presumably his wife won't cook them.
