The earth's rotation is simply one of many ways to *measure* time, and a primative one at that. Reversing its rotation would not reverse time any more than if you set your clock back and hour. Time waits for no one, even one with such power.

Theoretically its impossible to backwards in time. However if you go fast enough you can make your time go slower then the time for the rest of the universe.
So if you are travelling at 99% of the speed of light (C) then while an hour might pass for you, a year might pass for a person on Earth.
The Earth is spinning at 1000mph and while thats fast compared to what you know, its a tiny fraction of C (186 000 miles per SECOND).
Travel fast enough and you can watch the end of the Earth, but you will never see the dinosaurs.
Plus spinning the Earth the opposite waydoes not affect time, only magnetism and probably the climate.

Even trying to stop the earth spinning would tear the planet apart. So no we wouldn`t go back in time. But it is possible to look back in time because we do it all the time, everything we look at is infact back in time because it takes time for light to travel which is normally 186000 miles per second but light is not constant it can be slowed down for example light travelling through diamond is only half as fast and believe it or not traveling through liquid sodium at just above absolute zero, light only travels at 38 mph.

No but the change over would be really interesting because the atmosphere would stilll be travelling at around 1000mph in the opposite direction for a few weeks.

everyone seems to say no.i sometimes wish we could.back to the days when people looked after each other and when you could leave your door open and not be burgled.these days people lie dead in their flats for weeks and months and nobody gives a damn no even the people next door.
