I'm going on a People to People trip to Ireland, England & Wales this summer, just wondering if anyone else has been on a trip through People to People and has any advice for me. Or if you have ever been to any of those three countries, any tips for what to bring, foods to try, etc would be helpful.

thanks

--Also, do I need power adapters to use my electrical items?

I went to England and Scotland in the summer of 2006.

Make sure that you bring comfy clothes, like all athletic shorts, because you barely ever get time to wash your clothes. So bring lots of them too! I only had about 3 opportunities during a 3 week trip to wash my clothes.

You may want to consider bringing an extra pair of sneakers if you are going gorge walking, or anything involving water. Mine took a week to dry out after being in a rivine.

They have all the food pre-arranged, so you basically select from very few choices. I'm a vegetarian so I didn't eat much of the famous meat!

You generally don't need a power adapter. There are usually blow dryers in your hotels, but if you want to bring a straightner or anything else bring it.

You have to carry your stuff everywhere so be carefull how much you bring! Take tons of pictures and dont delete them untill you get home!

The trips are AMAZING!!!!! Take as many pictures as possible, even of yourself. Try everything: if you don't you will regret it later. Keep track of how much money you are spending, you don't want to run out. People to People will give you a suggested packing list, pack a few more pairs of clothes then suggested. Tide-to-Go will become you new best friend, most of the days you will be out of your hotel from 8am to 9pm. Listen to the other suggestions People to People gives you. They really help. Be prepared for the plane ride (at least 5 hours out of Boston, longer from anywhere else in the US). You might not be seated next to other delegates. Remember to get your homestay's email adress/home adress. The homestay is the highlight of the trip for many students. Anything else you are wondering about will probably be answered at your delegation meetings throughout the year. The only other thing I have to say is have fun and enjoy your time there.

You'll definitely need a good raincoat with a hood and good waterproof shoes. It's also a good idea to come prepared to dress in layers, as temperatures can be varied.

Electricity is 220 volts in these countries, you don't mention where you're coming from, but I hope this helps. In all these countries a three-prong square plug is used.

See what they have in local pubs, usually much better value that restaurants, and cater for local tastes.

I would suggest learning how to say 'hello' in Welsh.

Ik this was a long time ago... But how much did that trip cost? Can't find the answer to that anywhere!

That's the exact trip I want to go on... Was it worth it?
