convert hours to minutes....the word per indicates a division process....cars/minute so always divide by the value below the division line. cars divided by minutes will give cars per min.

i am assuming you mean 1440 cars per 24 hours.....

1440 cars per 24 hours divided by 24 hours per day = cars per hour

cars per hour divided by 60 minutes per hour = cars per minute.

1440/24/60=1
