Recently my computer deleted about 25GB of random things off my computer. The biggest being about 5GBs of music including half of albums. Is there any way of recovering these things and does anyone know what went wrong. I searched for virus' and found nothing.

It is not a copyright issue because only half of albums have been deleted and that's not what only was deleted.

I've had this computer for over 4 years aswell.

Sometimes when the hard drive starts going bad this can happen. I had it also happen to me with one hard drive that eventually failed me while another one just started acting up by not running some games & programs right. After replacing almost every piece of hardware from the motherboard to memory til I found out it was the hard drive and it always tested out OK using a bunch of different hard drive utilities that check for failing hard drives.
There are some programs that can bring back deleted stuff from your hard drive as long as no defrag was run. Usually a defrag will not allow these programs to recognize them or iut may permanently delete them.
I have used this program and thought it was good, some others may disagree or have a better program but this should work. http://www.data-recovery-software.net/Data_Recovery_Download.shtml This is only the demo and WILL NOT allow you to get large files over 64Kb back.
I do not know where to get the full version or any free recovery programs from, some others may.

If it is pirated music, video's or anything like that, it is windows that's doing it... with the new updates...

it looks for copy right software, and the licenses if your not licensed. it will delete those files and folders...

microsoft is looking for pirated software.... music, video, and ms software,,,
