i think it's ridiculous how her mother would let her start this career at such a young age. i mean she doesn't even have boobs yet, and she probably hasn't even started puberty for pete's sake! "it's my dream. everyone's making such a big deal out of it", a 12 year old has no idea what's out there, all she wants is some fame and to be known.

lol she's wayyyyyyyy to young! Her mom probably only wants to let her be a model cause the money has to go to the parents so they can put it in her account. But not all parents put the money where it belongs. She will probably get famous for like a couple months then die down.......when she gets 16 or 17 she will get famous again for like a little less then a year then thats it. Plus her mom will be burnin all her cash so she wont have mucho money left so I wish her luck. She WILL need it. lol

Are you talking about a 'Photographic model' or a "Catwalk model?" The role of the two are very different.

A photographic model, wearing appropriate clothes for her age for catalogues is an acceptable part-time career. The government restrictions on this aspect of the industry is strict and good.
If the photographic model is being asked to wear clothes and make-up that is inappropriate for her age -- making her look about 18 or older, then I am very much against it, even with the supervision that there is.

If the 12 year old is doing catwalk modelling, I am against this except under the very strictest of conditions and only when the child is wearing age-appropriate clothes and make-up.

You stated that the girl does not have breasts, or has reached puberty yet, yet you are implying she is an European Australian. European Australian girls start puberty at between 9 and 11 in Australia (and sometimes even earlier) whilst Asian and some other ethnic groups start later at around 12 to 15 depending on how long they have lived in Australia and the sort of food they eat.

Walter B's comments are extreamly stereo-typical... stop feeling threatened by women and enjoy some confidence.
