Scuba diving, or flying an aircraft? Why?

I've done both... as both a hobby and a job.

Here in California, I'm actually prefer flying... because the Coastal diving is just so damned cold and visibility is so limited. Now I suppose if I lived in the Caribbean or other warm-water area's I might do more diving.

I've tried both.
Aircraft usage, if rentals, are expensive while purchase in more so. Maintenance is frequently two hours for every one of flight sometimes. Cockpits are an acquired odor; don't seat anyone you won't enjoy smelling. Airport services add up unless reader has one in the residence garage. Like Scuba diving flyers operate in a lethal environment where small errors can kill. Scuba is cheaper to learn, acquire equipment, and pay for support services. Like aircraft you'll need to certify anew in mandated time periods or services will not be extended. The mask has too little suck once upon face so odor isn't a problem; what sucks is the giant sea croc' of Belau and points westward. My interest was both tropical and WW2 artifacts but changed on relocation to cooler waters. Utilized the photography learned overseas inside North American karst.

Scuba. It would seem to me to be more enjoyable in the long run. Wouldn't flying end up kinda' like driving after you were comfortable with it? It would be exciting at first but that would wear off after a while. Once you are at altitude, everthing starts to look the same. With scuba you are hands-on and have several different types of diving to keep things interesting...shallow, deep, reef, cave, wreck.

Flying an aircraft, because I love the idea of being able to see the lanscape from a birds view. I like scuba diving, but am a bit of a chicken when it comes to being stung or bitten by something. Microlites appeal to me more than an plane.

Scuba Diving because there is alot of life down there but in flying, you just sit there trying to survive.

Scuba diving. It's easier to learn, and most people know how to swim. It'll take longer to learn how to fly, and you might crash, too.
