The low cap Greek spelling is right, just the plural form for Drachma is incorrect. Should be "δραχμαί"(drachmai) instead of "δραχμές"(drachmes) for Greek currencies up to 1982. The 1971 5 drachmai is collectable in mint state with a catalog value of $5.50 but lower grades are often sold for under $1. The coin type was issued for only a short period bearing the dates 1971 and 1973 to commemorate the coup of 21st April 1967. The phoenix and the soldier holding a bayonet rifle was the emblem of the junta.

Your spelling of local value is not quite right. There is a 5 and below it 7 letters, one is a triangle then OAXMAI. That is 5 Drachmai which is the correct way to spell it in English and is used by coin collectors. They also made a 5 Lepta that year and that coin has a hole in the middle. Greece now uses the Euro so the coin is obsolete. the coin can be found in coin dealers boxes for around .25 cents U.S. It is not rare or scarce.

You have a 'five drachmae'' coin. It is no longer ''legal tender''. At last count, it was worth two cents (US).
