Why wont people just be honest? When they know that you know that they are lying...why not just admit the truth instead of beating around the bush and getting an attitude?!?

Because this world has more ignorant and stupid people more than it has smart constructive people.

Some people lie about one thing, then have to lie about another thing to cover the first lie and it just keeps going until either somebody calls them on it or they accidentally spill the beans. Why they lie in the first place could be for many reasons... insecurity, jealousy, wanting to sound important.. and many more.

True, it starts with themselves, if they're lying to themselves they can't be honest with anybody else. Some people are compulsive at it. On Dr. Phil they showed this guy who was a compuslive liar, he lied to his girlfriend. Told her he had cancer and that he only had six months to live. She and her family got their money together and took him on cruise that was supposed to be the last request. He went on living and lying. She finally left him.

Instead of beating around the bush, just call them a liar and say you're done with them.

When a person lies to me, and I know the truth, I will tell that person right away that I do not suffer fools or liers. If you lie to me once, our relationship is in jeopardy. If you lie to me twice, the relationship is over.

People just don't want to see your reaction and don't want to hurt your feelings even though they kno that they've hurted your feelings inside. Like,for example, a friend of mine just basically told me that he couldn't take me to a concert bc of him working but the main reason was bc of him being married. He basically covered the main excuse with a smaller excuse so I wouldn't cry, but I did anyways. Hate having people treat me like I'm nothing to them.

They're afraid how you might react. ie.: Someone killed your favourite Teddy Bear. What did you do? You rolled around the floor Yelling MURDERER!!MURDERER!!! People don't like being called Murderers so they just do it for the reaction or its to keep a secret. By the way that was a Example...EXAMPLE!!

YES. i do hate that...... but then again, it's their lack of integrity, not mine so whatever. THEY have to live with themselves, i dont! and, my attitude is --> screw up 100 times, i'll still love you, forgive you and do what i can for you --
-> lie to my face, and you're done; even if i don't let on right away.
There is NEVER a reason to lie.
I am honest... i expect you to be also. it's that simple.

cuz lying is some ppls hobbie!
i have a friend that was like that, her friends were like that too.
but now she started to hang out with me and other ppl and she doesnt do that anymore.
I hate when ppl do that too.
Waste of time talking to people like that.

It's hurful to be lied to. To lie to me when we BOTH know it's a lie is insulting in the bargain. Why? Beats me....
I understand why people lie. I just don't understand why they continue to lie when they're called on it! }:>
