So Putin and Bush have pretty much laid out their directives, with Putin saying that an American attack on Iran would be considered an attack on Russia, and Bush responding that any attempt to secure Iran would result in another world war.
A considerable amount of americans think that this iraq war and occupation should not have happened.
Though most americans think that we can't quite simply pull out all our effort there, many have "washed their hands clean" from any association of this war. This is a very unpopular war.
If Russia really will take the Iran situation as seriously as they imply, then you better bet you ever-loving *** that China is going to want in on it. It would be too good of an opportunity for either country to destroy America's hegemonial powers.

If world war breaks out, Americans won't think that a world war is worth dealing with a smaller power like Iran. I mean, really. The second Iran sent a nuclear weapon on an American city (or any other city, allied with us or not), America would return it with nuclear devastation many times over, anyways.
The point I am making here is that a World war would require an enormous drafting of American citizens unlike any other war before it. Americans don’t believe in this hypothetical war enough to respond to that draft. Americans will not go to war, they will largely ignore the draft to the point that America will not have forces to fight that war. Thanks George Bush, you are a genius.
