I have a "Friend", What do I do?

I have this "friend". She never treats me with respect and I have a hard time sticking up for myself. I've known her for 7 years and I've always felt this way. I wrote one of those letters that people write just to let their feelings out that they never actually send. I wasn't planning on sending it, but after I wrote it I didn't feel any better. It wasn't hateful, it just listed things that she does wrong to me. (Two pages of things, typed)She never leaves me alone, and tells me I'm her best friend. I dont' feel that way about her. I really want her to know how I feel. Should I send the letter? Should I spend time gaining courage and stand up for my self?? Should I ignore her? Should I just let it keep happening? what should I do? Please Help!

you should ignore her. just ignore everything and let this blow over. because when you ignore her, she will probably ask you what's wrong, and then you can tell her, instead of just telling her out of the blue.

I was in the EXACT same pickle as you, TWICE!!

OK, take this from a pro at these problems. With the first friend I completely cut her off and ignored her. She got the picture and started hanging out with other people. She ended up confronting me about it and I just told her how i felt and we never talked again. It was as simple as that.

With the second "friend" I just sent her a letter/email telling her what I didn't like about her and that I just couldn't stand that kind of behavioar and she left me alone.

That is what I did and it WORKED, so take my advice

I know exactly what you mean! I have a friend just like that, who've I knew since kindergarten, used to be close to but then she started acting mean and bossy and I saw the real person that I didn't really know years ago in elementary school. She acts the same way you describe your friend.

You should stand up for yourself. If she's acting rude to you or being disrespectful, tell her straight up to stop and act nicer. If you don't like being her "friend", then you don't have to be. Just stop hanging around her, and hopefully she'll move on and find a different friend. I know it sounds easier than it really is, but it's your life, and she shouldn't be the one telling you how to live it. You don't have to be enemies with her, but she can be just a friend, not a BFF.

You call her a friend....IS SHE.?

You can know someone and they not be your friend. I would say to analyze your need to keep her in your life; Re-READ the letter and if you still think it is OK then mail it. If she wants to be your friends she will contact you and you can talk one on one. If you don't hear from her then she is not a FRIEND, just someone you know.

u gotta be all in her face about it or she will never get the hint. just be like "i dont like how ur treating me" kinda cliche i no but whatever it works. stand up for urself sooner than later

She probably just calls you her best friend because she thinks she can treat you however she wants. So just confront her.

If she doesn't treat you with respect she isn't your friend. Just dump her.

write her a note that tells her that she is just to close to you and you need your space. and when you give it to her and walk away.if she asks you why just tell her that you are kind of getting sick of her.
