it's usually a percentage of the sale price i think it's someting like no more than 3-4% for both reps if there are more than one but normally you agree to that with your agent - but if you're looking for an apt, nothing

Ask, silly! Usually real estate agents are for purchases, and they get a percentage from the seller. Which would mean, you're not the one who pays.
