I've noticed this a lot. Multiple answers to questions with either the exact same advice, or close to it... Just wondering if anyone actually reads the previous answers before posting thier own...

In sections that are popular, you could click on a question with no answers, and in the time it takes you to write an answer and post it, 5 other people have also answered.

And sometimes, people need to hear the same advice from as many people as possible. Lets say a teen girl asks for advice about dealing with her boyfriend, and there are a whole bunch of red flags for possible physical abuse. If lots of people tell her to leave him as soon as possible, hopefully she will take it to heart.

Yes I know what you mean. The questions just seem to go on and on forever and some are really long they have to add more details because they couldn't fit them all in. I sometimes just read the top bit or a few lines but I never answer with out reading the whole thing. Sometimes you just look at the question and it's so long just looks to daunting to read. Some people just waffle on and some questions don't make sense etc. Some answerer's reply with really, really long answers like they have written a book and some even have cut and pasted it from a book. Or just wrote a load of long rubbish. I did some knitting today and now I'm about to watch neighbours. What about you? I think later I might make something to eat. Oh dear I missed the beginning of neighbours. What was the questions again? Oh yeah long questions. It's so annoying how people write really long questions and answers. I never writ very long questions and answers. It just takes to long to read.

That happens to me all the time; what it is is, people think of the same answer and respond just the way they would do if there were no other answers. In fact, I just answered a question with an almost identical answer posted before mine. I do read other answers occasionally, but not all the time.

Sometimes, the answers are just posted at the same time. I have looked at a question, with 0 answers and by the time I send my answer, there's 10 posted. It just happens.

Some of us view that as cheating or fudging a little. Mostly the old ones like me, I imagine. I never read anyone else's answers till after I answer.

Well, sometimes you read the previous answers and they are pressed into your mind. Then when you go to write te question you accidentally write almost the same thing.

I don't, what tends to happen though is that when i start to write my answer there is 1 answer, by the time i submit it i am about the tenth person to answer!!!. And alot of the questions just are common sense answers or advice.

I always post before reading others replies. I don't want my answer influenced by others opinions.
