Hopefully NEVER! For it is Santa that brings out the innocence of a child, and to have a little of that even at the age of 56 is wonderful! Santa still comes to our house on Christmas Eve and brings all the presents...nothing is under the tree except what we are given by others.....but Santa brings all the other gifts after everyone is asleep...Some Christmases have been bigger than others...but Santa always comes........and Every gift is wrapped in different paper...I have a trunk full, and rolls in the closet! We do not forget that Christ is the reason, and Christmas Eve is Church Services, and dinner after, (usually Lasagna) and Luminarias and Christmas Lights, and The Christmas Story! Christmas Day is Family and Santa and being together with Prime Rib Roast, and Home Made Rolls, Mashed Potatoes & gravy Green Beans & Onions, and Pie for Dessert.....Christmas Movies and Cookies and Milk!

It depends on when one of their friends spill the beans.

No offense, but I have never understood the concept of lying to your children. My kids know who Saint Nicolas was and they know that Santa is on the same level as Dora the Explorer - a story character, not real.
If you never teach them a lie, then you never have to worry about them being crushed when someone finally tells them the truth.
And remember that while part of that "crushed" feeling is "there is no Santa", the other part of that crushed feeling is "Mom lied to me". Ouch.

Not worth it in my book.

depends. I never really believed in Santa, so I'd say enjoy the sweet innocence while it lasts.

Stop believing in Santa?? If I did that, he wouldn't bring me presents any more. I'm 52. :)

They should never believe Santa is real. You shouldn't lie to your children. Tell them Santa is a story and lets play make believe.
