I just spent over 100 grand on a website. I'm interested in knowing what I should expect. It's for a Web 2.0 website.

I would think that you should know what to expect before forking over $100K on anything! However...

If you mean you spent $100K on just a domain name, it should be a name that is capable of generating a tremendous amount of traffic from search engines searches (such as payoffdebt.com, christmaspresents.com, etc.). The important thing is having key search words that many people use in the URL of the domain.

If you bought an existing web site that is up and running, it should have high Google Page Rank and lots of traffic from a high number of unique visitors every day. If the site is already set up to make money, you would normally require the seller to provide proof of any income claims (preferably audited financial statements).

I think you should expect user customization, chat, blogs and social networking.
You should also expect a professional design and appearance. You also should have a decent search ranking.

You should expect for people to think you were really STUPID to spend that much for something you can get for as little as $1.99
