Sparingly soluble bases and salts, such as Fe(OH)2, and FeCO3 are more soluble in acidic than in neutral solutions. why?

Fe(OH)2(s) + 2HCl(aq) ===> FeCl2(aq) + 2H2O

FeCO3(s) + 2HCl(aq) ===> FeCl2(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O
