Yes i live in Wales and my Best Friend lives in London. So its just a day trip or weekend for me. Tons of German and American tourists. no just tons of tourists full stop (or period as you say in America) Its really fun definatly go to Madame Tusaudes and on the London Eye. Oh and go SHOPPING! Harrods is so fun. I have so many of those little bears!! they are so cute. Oxford street ... omg I just love shopping there. It is a really great experience especially if you go and see a West End Play but don't limit your self only to London there are so many other great cities in Britain and Paris is only a train ride away.
so if you can definatly do come!

London is my hometown! I lived there for the first 18 yrs of meh life...no other city in the world parrallels london... the people are one of a kind- they are guarded but also welcoming, open minded and incredibly grounded. The weather sucks azz, but what you lack in sunshine you make up for in culture and history. There is ALWAYS something to do or somewhere to go for free, no matter what time of day, and its pretty easy to meet people out there (but of course, im biased!)
If you are interested in visited, its definitely a good place to go if you want a different atmosphere, but in a country where there are no language barriers!

Five times. I have several friends there.
London has some interesting things to do [particularly the Tower of London], but a lot of it is wretchedly touristy.
If you want to experience England, get out into the midlands, and also down to Brighton.
I can't imagine going nowadays, though. The U.S. currency exchange rate is more than $2.00 to the Pound -- very pricey.

3x now. Great the 1st time, *Slightly* routine by #3. But I didn't stay there the 2nd & 3rd time. I was on my way further north.
Londoners don't look twice when they hear an American accent. People from all over the world go there everyday. Like NYC. It's bigger than NY, but a bit more polite.

Been there a couple of times, mind you it takes about 30 hours with stops from New Zealand.
Would happily go there again, so much to see and do, so much history.
