I just received my Fastrak inside sensor. It will only be used a few times a year. So, my question is "Will the device work if placed on my dash when I approach the toll booths"? I don't want to mount it to the windshield nor the lower dash via velcro but keep it in my glove box until needed.

it will work pretty much anywhere in the car. glove box is questionable. my velcro stuff stopped sticking so now it sits on the dash board and goes flying on the floor if I take a turn too fast. And it still works. i usually just stick mine in the cup holder.

if you don't want to use the transponder, i.e. you are going through carpool lane, with an actual carpool, they make these little bag/sleeves that you can get from Fastrak.

yes, it's going to be fine. it might even work from inside the glove box, but placing it on the dashboard is more reliable.

When not using it - place it in the mylar bag and then in your glove box.
