I would simply go up to the counter and inform the wait staff that I was one nugget short in my meal.
It's not that big of a deal. Mistakes happen and people are human. No need to get angry or anything.
(((hugs)))

If I'd already walked out the door, I'd forget about it. Big deal. If I were still standing at the counter and had counted the nuggets, I'd ask for #20.

tell mcdonalds that you were short one. Whether or not you got another nugget, the people need to know that counting does count

one short out of 20 ? that's 5 % so I would either ask for one more nugget or 5 % of my money back.

Well, I can tell you what I wouldn't do. I wouldn't be surprised!
McDonalds always stuff up their orders.
You either get the right order with a nugget missing, or you get the wrong order altogether.

holy crap do they really make 20-pieces?? ridic. um I would probably complain on their website so they'd give me a coupon for free stuff next time. when you're eating that many nuggets, I'd understand that they just miscounted.
aren't chicken nuggets one of the worst foods to digest? i think i read that somewhere.. if that's true maybe I'd just consider myself lucky?
no, who am I kidding. gimme the fat, baby. =)
I'd be really pissed if I got short-changed from a 5-piece to a 4-piece or something like that..

Woah Mc'ds has a 20 peice. Here in Canada the most we got is a 10 peice. Ha must be America where they would sell the 20 peice.

Keep your receipt. Call and ask for the manager, tell him the situation and say you want an extra piece next time you are in. Ask his name and write it down with the time and date. Then next time they should give you an extra or maybe even a couple extra. Stick the receipt with the info in the car so you have it next time.
