What do you do with a cheater?

In my class there is this kid who cheats of my paper. Wheather it's test, in class assingmeants, or whatever. He always looks at my paper. Trust i dont just give it to him, sometimes he catches me off gaurd and see's my paper. He's nice and all but im getting sick of it. I tried telling him to stop and everything but he doesnt listen. Before when i caught him looking he looked away but now he just smiles/smirks at me. And Now he's friend who sits in back of me looks at my paper too. Im sick of it. And i know the teacher knows cause he looks at the kid looking at my paper but he doesnt say anything! What shouldi do?!!

ask the teacher to move either your seat or theirs. If the paper is easy enough, go through and figure the answers in your head and only write part of the answer or a wrong answer, and then at the last minute finish the test and put in what the right answer is so that they don't have time to change what they already copied from you. For one example, you might write that salt isn't corrosive and then let them copy that but at the last minute erase the right letters so that you hand in a paper which states salt is corrosive - The best answer I could think of at the moment.
Perhaps the teacher is setting them up to fail as well, not worrying about them copying now when it isn't necessarily all that important but you are learning and they are not so if a final test you are going to be the one with the answers and they will fail in the test because they haven't learned anything.

I would talk with your teacher and let him/her know what is up. If he/she doesn't do anything, I would talk with your school principal and let them know what is happening. I would also talk with your parents and fill them in.
