why DONT mature human blood cells have a nucleus and mitochondria?

WHY questions are very difficult to answer.

One answer would be that as red blood cells are developing, they extrude their nuclei.

Another answer would be that they are more flexible without a nucleus and can more easily fit through capillaries.

Because red blood cells need to have more room for hemoglobin so that they can carry more oxygen.
