Chief Wahoo is viewed by some as very racist and derogatory toward American Indians.

With that in mind would you support the Cleveland Indians changing their mascot/logo

and plus.. i don't think they will change it it's been the indian since.. god knows when :)

There are even Native American supporters for the mascot. It's blown WAY out of proportion. I have Native American ancestry and I think people have more important issues that need to be addressed.

I don't find it a disgrace any more than having mascots of any other human background.

It should be up to the INDIANS themselves as to whether or not it's offensive. Americans who trampled their homeland shouldn't judge what a warrior is in this case.

I don't think it is. It's just a mascot, not racist or anything. Maybe they're not accurate on Indian's behavior or looks or anything, but it's just a mascot. I wouldn't worry about it too much, just say it's just a mascot. They're not trying to "put-down" anyone, in essence.

if they were using a black guys face all gollywog like, you can bet everyone would be screaming racism the only difference here is theres noone speaking up for the american indian the same way as african americans do.

It is both a mascot and racist, They can do what ever they please, but can you imagine the money they will make on the new name and old name?
