Most of the United States still observes Daylight Saving Time. Starting in 2007, however, the time period during which it is observed was changed. In the United States, Daylight Time begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. "Spring forward, fall back," so on Sunday, November 4, 2007, at 2:00 a.m., most people in the United States will turn their clocks back one hour.

Note: Daylight Saving Time is NOT observed in Arizona or Hawaii. In those states, the same time is observed year round. Parts of Indiana were formerly exempt from Daylight Time, but since 2006, the entire State of Indiana observes Daylight Time.

I live in Arizona. I think the idea of moving the clock back and forth is a huge waste of time and does nothing to save energy. Fortunately, I live in one of the two enlightened states that, as permitted by federal law, has exempted itself from Daylight Saving Time.

When we change our clocks
Beginning in 2007, most of the United States begins Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.
Date change in 2007

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to resume the 2005 Daylight Saving Time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.
