there are some groups who believe in equal parenting (despite history of DV), false allegations of rape and DV and punishment of women (although men also make false claims against women); attack DV services (that would also help men).
Do they seek equality with a vengeance?
xyonline:
The fathers’ rights movement will continue to seek an equality concerned with fathers’ ‘rights’ and status rather than the actual care of children (Rhoades, p. 156). The fathers’ rights movement will continue to pursue ‘equality with a vengeance’ (Rhoades, 2000, p. 155). It prioritises formal principles of equality over positive parenting and the well-being of women and children, conflates children’s welfare with parental equality and ignores actual caregiving divisions of labour. Its advocates will persist in trying to re-establish paternal authority and fathers’ decision-making related to their children’s and ex-partners’ lives (Bertoia & Drakich, 1993; Cornell, 1998,; Stacey, 1998,

False memory, false sexual abuse claims, vengeance, are all the diseases of women.
"Women get what they want by revising what they had."
If it isn't true, they make it up and convince themselves it is true and men end up in jail or executed as a result.

On the contrary, I believe these groups are hurting legitimate masculinists. As well, these groups are attacking services that would help them; making false claims; and avoiding male-vs-male violence & only attacking women.

I wonder if hopscotch or cassius would consider federal government statistics to be "sexist feminist propaganda".
These come from the CDC, Department of justice and National Institute of Justice.
"Each year, women experience about 4.8 million
intimate partner related physical assaults and rapes.
Men are the victims of about 2.9 million intimate
partner related physical assaults."
"IPV resulted in 1,544 deaths in 2004. Of these deaths,
25% were males and 75% were females."
"Most intimate partner victimizations are not
reported to the police. Approximately onefifth
of all rapes, one-quarter of all physical
assaults, and one-half of all stalkings perpetrated
against female respondents by intimates
were reported to the police."
"the survey found 7.7 percent of surveyed women and 0.3 percent of surveyed men reported being raped by a current or former"
"the survey found that 22.1
percent of surveyed women and 7.4 percent of
surveyed men reported being physically assaulted
by a current or former intimate partner at some
time in their lifetime, whereas 1.3 percent of all
surveyed women and 0.9 percent of all surveyed
men reported being physically assaulted by such a
partner in the previous 12 months. Thus, approximately
1.3 million women and 834,732 men were
physically assaulted by an intimate partner in the
12 months preceding the survey"
"Survey found
that women were significantly more likely than
men to report being victimized by an intimate
partner, whether the period was the individual’s
lifetime or the 12 months preceding the survey
and whether the type of violence was rape,
physical assault, or stalking. Moreover, the survey
found that differences between women’s and
men’s rates of physical assault by an intimate
partner become greater as the seriousness of the
assault increases. For example, women were two
or three times more likely than men to report that
an intimate partner threw something that could
hurt them or pushed, grabbed, or shoved them.
However, they were 7 to 14 times more likely to report that an intimate partner beat them up, choked or tried to drown them, or threatened them with a gun or knife"
"Over 32,000 pregnancies result from rape every year"
"Women are more likely to be victims of sexual violence than men: 78% of the victims of rape and sexual assault are women and 22% are men"
"Most perpetrators of sexual violence are men. Among acts of SV committed against women since the age of 18, 100% of rapes, 92% of physical assaults, and 97% of stalking acts were perpetrated by men. SV against men is also mainly male violence: 70% of rapes, 86% of physical assaults, and 65% of stalking acts were perpetrated by men"
"A national survey found that 10% of women were victims of rape or attempted rape by a husband or intimate partner in their lifetime "
"About 4% to 9% of women—approximately 152,000 to 324,000—are physically abused while they are pregnant"

Perhaps in some cases what they seek is vengeance, and the only way they can do that within the legal system is by crying "Equal Rights"
It is no coincidence that male perpetrators of DV and spousal abuse use an inherently (in the literal sense - inherited) patriarchal legal system to continue bully women and put them through cross examination, dissect their characters and do whatever they can to get what they want. The victim is put through more stress and upheaval through the courts, and deterred from legal justice by the process itself.
This question actually conflates two issues here, perhaps unintentionally and they should be very clearly delineated. Domestic violence and rape are almost exclusively crimes committed by men against women. If anyone doubts this they should check the justice department statistics.
Fighting for custody and access to children after a relationship split is NOT a crime committed by men against women, and indeed some women feel justified in maliciously defaming their partners to acquire the full custody they think they are entitled to.
Lets draw a division between custody battles and DV, they do NOT belong in the same question except where violence has caused the split.
****EDIT*** on rereading this question - I realise you are trying to make the point that women steamroll mens rights on childcare issues where men steamroll women on DV, so yes. ****End Edit***
To address the issue of custody more deeply, yes there is an element of fathers wishing to assert control over decision making, which when it comes down to it is quite a natural thing to want. Would any mother whose child is in paternal; custody want the father getting drunk, leaving the child unattended, spending child support payments on gambling? I think not.
The statistical fact that women take the lions share of custody means that mens reactions happen in a reality which is fundamentally unbalanced (though not necessarily wrong, often the mother is the one willing to put most time into childcare).
In short summary - those who abuse, commit DV and crimes of violence against women will use the legal system in whatever way they can to avoid censure, and extract revenge on women who seek redress through the courts. Vengeance through equality.
In childcare and custody battles, both men and women can be guilty of lying and defamation to get what they want. Equality and vengeance are sidelined by selfishness and, in many cases, the conviction that they are acting in the best interest of the child no matter the consequence to their ex partner of the lies they tell.

The opportunists who like to call themselves masculists care more about reviving male power than equality. While giving men more of a shot in the family court and protecting men against DV are legitimate causes, they must also consider who even deserves it.

Of course fathers should have equal parenting rights. No fair minded American disagrees with that.
I know not the sources you've cited, but they quite obviously are nothing more than diatribes espousing a political agenda disguised as supposedly serious scholarship.

xyonline is in no way credible. They doctor statistics as good as any feminist web site and totally ignore statistics that go against what they try to portray.
What you are talking about is making all good fathers fit into the box of the few bad.
Should we be making laws that hurt all men because of the few bad men.

Maybe you should read this:
http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/story?id=2741047
excerpt:
"A report prepared for the Centers for Disease Control estimates that each year there are over 800,000 serious cases of men being physically abused by women. But the actual figures are believed to be much higher, since many men are often too embarrassed to admit being the victim of abuse by a woman."
Why did you have to mention "history of DV?" Was it to try & defame men? (I already know the answer to that.)
Because the "history of DV" has been horribly skewed by radical feminists. The claim of "95% of all DV is male on female is a complete fabrication.
Your "source" is a horribly sexist radical feminist propaganda site. If you believe ANYTHING from there, it tells me a whole lot about you.

I agree. They're mostly whiners who are incensed by the fact that they are now expected to share power with women. They just can't wrap their minds around the concept - and prefer scapegoating, blaming, denial, projection...and all the rest.
They bore me.

Be careful which scholarly, intelligent sources you quote (which I would love to read, btw). If it's not the famous pedophile Warren Farrell, or the blithering Christina Hoff Sommers, it doesn't matter to the vengeance seeker.

So when a woman seeks equality she seeks equality, but when a man seeks equality he is a big ugly monster damaging everybody in his path. Now thats a double standard.
