The opposite is more true. If you DON'T think about life, the negative things in it will find YOU.

How the mind works is that everything that comes into our awareness is absolutely neutral in meaning. The mind then interprets that sensory data and gives it meaning. If the mind gives a negative meaning to something, then the mind AND body react negatively towards that object and vice-versa for something perceived as positive.

It's not over-thinking that leads to seeing something as negative. In fact, it's an inability to not be able to think about it in such a way that you can see the positives in that something. Truthfully, seeing things negatively is a LACK of the imagination to entertain the possibility that there could be positives in the thing being thought about.

And, what I'm guessing here, is that if a person has a general negative disposition, they're going to 'over-think' a situation until they can see it in a negative way so that it is in accordance with their disposition. I used to be that way. Now, I'm generally a very positive person and I'll 'over-think' situations until I can see the positives in them...

Yes. You will think every choice that branches of whatever subject you are thinking of. You will distinguish between the positive and negative things that you encounter or face off in life. When you overthink, you find many or sometimes too much negative things. I think a lot about consequences of my choices and each of them has something negative to it.

Yes. A lot of people stumble over pebbles. People with meloncholly personalities have a hard time seeing the BIG picture and easily get caught up with what is wrong with their lives. They are great quality control people in the workforce because they automatically see what's wrong. They need to think less and sit back and relax!

Theres no such thing as 'overthinking' life, the issue is most people don't think at all about life. Negativity is created by people who don't think about life, and those who do see it.

Of course. If you think about anything too much you'll see more than what you want to see. Plus, you're going to probably see things that aren't even there. Dwelling on certain things is never good.
