No, I thought is was a great book and did the job of winding up the series in fine style.
Not to say there weren't things that could have been better, mainly the insistence that the book follow the same time table that the others did. All that meant was the time "camping was far too long and a good 100 pages could have been cut out.
Still, all told a fitting end to the series.

I've read Lord of the Rings and Narnia before harry potter, so it's sort of hard for me to appreciate HP. On the other hand, I've managed to read all the books in the series to see what the fuss was all about, but I'm under the impression that Rowling lost steam after the third book. I liked books 1-3 and I finished all in one sitting. Book 4 onwards bored me mostly, and the only parts I actually found okay were the beginnings, something interesting happening very briefly in the middle, and the ends.

No, I liked it. It made me cry, squeal, laugh, and wrapped up all the loose ends nicely. I've enjoyed very few books as much or more. I see it as just the last chapter of a whole epic. I look at all 7 books over all. All-together, it's the best story I've ever read. I thought it was a fitting end to the series. Some of my friends didn't like it tho.
What I didn't like was: -Epilogue. (It felt like she went from adult tone right back to her book 1 tone. Plus, I just felt sorry for three kids who had to tote the names “Hugo”, “Scorpius”, and “Albus Severus” around for the rest of their lives. I think she could have done something different/better. But I didn’t absolutely hate it though, like some people.
-The middle.
-Harry breaking the taboo and getting hauled to Malfoy manor. That was stupid.
-I wasn’t surprised at much. She had me going there thinking Harry was going to die for a second (I was so mad too), but there wasn’t much that hadn’t been predicted by a lot of people. The deaths of Fred and Lupin threw me though.
-Ginny needed to be in the whole series more.

yes and no, i liked all the info on snape and lilly the history......but she could of left out the 300 where harry was finding places to hind and not knowing where to go, it was good in the beging bland all the way through until.WAM!!! a load of info spills out to the point of seeming like she wanted to just write the book and finish it as soon as possible. Harry also seemed kind of idiotic in the last book just wandering around not knowing what to do, and then getting side tracked when he did know what to do and charecters where dieing to save the "chosen one" and finally after 100s of pages he figures out what to do.

No, I liked it, JK Rowling is an excellent writer, but I do have to admit that the epilogue was a little unlike her. There's no reason not to read the book, espiecally if you've read all six previous ones.
(SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!)
I think Mad Eye Moody's death was not unlike the death of Steve Irwin. The description of the kind of loss his fellows were feeling is similar to the way many people felt about Steve Irwin's sudden end.

I am sooooo disappointed. Not in the quality of the writing but in the story line. Like for instance the curtain Harry's godfather fell through. We never found out exactly what it was, but there were hints like the voices and wind coming out of it. I was totally convinced that Harry would find out in the last book that Sirius was not dead but just trapped in there, and would find a way to get him out. For Harry to have lost Albus and Sirius both is just TOO sad for me to enjoy the end of the series. That ruined it for me.

I found the first four books OK, but then JK Rowlings writing quality has gone down and I didn't much like the fifth book onwards.

I thought it was the best one out of the series. The 17 years later could've been better though.
