yes andrew, this is a common suprise of many guys buying new graphic cards
and your right you should of got one in the packaging, why not telephone or e-mail the manufacturer and demand a dvi adpater just for the sheer principle of it
however just look forward to tommorow when you attach the dvi adpater and play your games at max settings and full filtering
just for your convenience heres the link for the latest forceware driver for the geforce 8800gts....http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_163.71.html
although the 8800gts isnt the top of the range 8series card its the best all round card in my opinion for many reasons, such as affordability, power, and general all round compatibility
however look at it this way,it could be worse, for example my mate who went and bought a geforce 7900gtx for £300 and got home to realise he had a agp motherboard(and he thrown away the receipt),,but they did exchange it in the end as one of the staff recognized hin
and dont worry the dvi adpaters are only around £2-50
good luck with the new card
good luck andrew !

The 8800GTS is an excellent card.

The 8800GTS and all gaming cards use a lot of power. Is your power supply big enough?

Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply. with +12 Volt current rating of 26 Amps.
---------------------------------------
Higher performance video cards require more current from the 12 volt leg of the power supply that supplies the video card. This may require changing to a more powerful power supply. Determine the amps at 12 Volts the video card recommends and compare it to your existing power supply.
