5x/6-5= x/3 + 7

ok mult every thing by 6 cos thats your common denominator.i.e 6 and 3 both go into it.

5x/6 *(6) -5*(6) = x/3*(6) + 7*(6)
5x -30 = 2x +42
+30 +30
5x = 2x +72
-2x -2x
3x= 72
/3 /3
x= 24

use 6 as the lcd

5x-30=2x+42
5x-30+30=2x+42+30
3x=72
x=24
