I just came back from Indonesia - Bali Island, Jakarta, Middle Jave, West Java. I visited many places. It is very interesting over there.- World Treasure sites, temples, palace, botanical garden, safari, memorial, down town business center, independence monument, mini Indonesia, the beautiful beach at Bali, many volcano's, etc. The volcano, and earth- quake are not a big deal for the Indonesians. They all used to it, and know how to prevent disaster. They need more, and better weather forecast. After I came back from Jakarta, they had more than 8 times earth quakes. I e-mailed to my friends, they all says everything is all-right. The earthquake will not interfere their daily life. If we have a level 6 earthquake, we will all jump out of the building here.- that is because we never had such experience.
You can search on Yahoo, Travel, Indonesia - You can find many interesting sites there. As far as the volcano, and the earthquake are concerns - Are they directly related to the weather change ? I do not know. Who really knows? We are all guessing. The key thing for you is to get out of there if you see something is not right. Good Luck!

And in addition to Geomatic's answer, the plate motion causes stress on areas of plates that are locked. the stress, after a certain point will give way and be released as earthquakes, earthquakes that may cause volcanoes to erupt, or volcanic eruptions. In that region, the volcanoes actually made up the many island chains in the pacific; therefore, the volcanoes lie on areas where two plates "rub" each other. Hence, the stress will be involved in the many earthquakes and volcanic actions being seen right now.
