first you dip the carved pumpkin in a water and bleach solution to keep mold and mildew at bay. Then you cover all cut surfaces with vaseline to prevent rapid drying.

You really cannot. Just get another pumpkin, wait until the 30th, and carve a new Jack O'Lantern. That is the only way it will look fresh and beautiful for Hallowe'en.

I heard if you use wax as soon as your done carving it it will hold longer. I wish I did that. I just had to throw mine away.

it will probably be ok until halloween..I don't think I ever saw a jack'o lantern and said oh that sucks..its too dried out!!!
