Oh wow... I devour those fruit tootsie rolls along with a collection of other things...usually I buy hershey bars, butterfingers, Reeses peanut butter cups and milky ways, both dark and light.
This collection makes for a colorful fall mix and "matches" my Halloween bowls, so they look nice, too. When the children (and teens and adults) come to the door, I just hold out the bowl and let them choose. They can take more than one if they like since I always buy plenty of candy. I also watch for the parents out on the sidewalk, especially those carrying young children and ask the children at the door to choose something for their brother or sister. My decorations are not spooky- just a bunch of carved pumpkins lining the walkway.
I usually use glow- sticks to light them for color variety.
You have galvanized me to get going on the carving and the shopping. Gotta get out of my sweats and go...thank you for the reminder and Happy Halloween.
