For me it's christmas. It's been ruined in my family, so it's just kind of a depressing day where we all get together and get drunk and pretend to be thrilled with each others company.

I'm in the UK and I hate Bonfire Night, my Dad died 10 years ago on November the 4th and to celebrate with fireworks seems very wrong. We have children so we take them to the display, it's just as well it's in the dark, no-one sees my crying.....

I think it's a sad state of affairs but your description of Christmas pretty much matches mine, families are very complex things...

Heh...yeah i understand your feelings on that one...i hate pretense no matter the context or the reasons for them so it bothers me a lot too when people act thrilled to see you just cuz its what one does at certain times of the year...however, there are a few of my family members that no matter how much they may not be thrilled by seeing me, i am always happy to see them so i am okay with that one way feeling, just in this particular case. The thing thats ruined Christmas for me the most though is the commercialization...its just become so much about presents and its so stressful to figure out what to get the other person....something that you really know they will like. However, even so, its not my least favourite holiday...honestly i dont think i really have a least favourite holiday cuz i dont really celebrate that many and most of them look fun or at least pretty from afar. :)

I don't like thanksgiving. I go to a place two hours away on a really windy road to see my family(I cannot go the day before because it is not a day off) then I always get sick and spew.

For me, it'd have to be Easter or Thanksgiving. Easter because the focus is on religion (I'm an atheist) and it's a little kid's holiday. And Thanksgiving because everyone is so excited aboot eating turkey, which grosses me out since I'm a vegetarian.

I dont really have one, maybe it would be Labor Day. My boss' are off and the kids dont have school, but they still make me come in and watch them, while they do whatever. I would enjoy having the day off too!
