My mom put my dad through college in the 70's, my dad spent their last $40 on a Transcendental Meditation class in 1975, my mom paid off the mortgage last moth on the house a year early. My parents have been together for 40 years. My mom is the person that handles the finances, dad not so good with managing money. It is an equal partnership but my dad has never been good with money and he spends, well to put it in a way you'll understand, "like a woman." I would call this a modern relationship, that has been going on for 40 years.

Those are human beings in a human relationship don't see their money as being "his" and "hers" but rather they pool their money, and if possible and that's how they want it, one of them stays home.

Why is it you think only guys should answer this question?

When I met him, his kids were grown, but yes, I have known a stay-at-home Dad. Since he was a teacher (therefore low pay) and he wanted to stay with the kids, and she made enough money, and didn't want to stay hoem with the kids, he stayed home and took care of the kids and house.

What is it to YOU how couples you aren't in allocate the various roles of running a household and raising kids?

I say it's none of your friggin' business.

(And, yes, he is a "real guy" -- quite attractive, in fact, and not at all girly. A man doesn't have to be a brain-dead sub-human brute to be a man. Hard though that is for you to believe.)

That would be me. But I have the best of both worlds, I get more time to spend with my boy and I get to do something I truly enjoy, playing the stock market to get an income.

Edit: I forgot to thank feminism for allowing me to be able to do what I want. LOL

Why do you have such a hard time believing that there are both men and women out there that respect each other as equal partners?

That's been my experience in every one of my relationships.

Thanks for the 2 points, troll.

while doing that is wrong, well, you sound a lot like a feminist, and the thing is -- a lot of women live like that

My husband. Want to meet him? He's a great guy. I am the breadwinner of the house.

When he walks, his knuckles don't drag on the ground, either.
