What do you mean by "numeric system"?

Every literate person in the world uses the same symbols for numbers as we do in the US. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0.

How many there are is just a matter of how obscure you want to get. The only number system in really widespread daily use is base ten with Arabic numerals.

Computer nerds use hexadecimal and binary. Roman numerals are used for a few things. The Chinese have characters for the numbers, that are more or less base ten but have some special characters for the various powers of ten instead of using only place-notation.

Then you can move on to archaic systems from India and the Mayas. And the ways you can be encode numbers are practically unlimited. But five seems to me like a good place to draw the line.
