We have to trust the legal process because we have no other.
In fairness if the McCanns come before a British Court the judge will bend over backwards to make sure they get a fair hearing. I do not wish to make any observations about other jurisdictions

Actually, I find your question really offensive. You imply that people in office are fools and unable to make a decision for themselves.
Is this the quality of the people we have in office? I'd like to think they have a bit more substance.
If they are guilty, arrest them, let them stand trial and face the courts. If not, leave them be.
