I haven't seen it but I heard an interview with the film makers saying he was dead at the end of the 3rd one so I assume it's flashback / videotaped stuff etc.

This is not a spoiler. Jigsaw is not alive.
Jigsaw is in this movie because it reveals things before he started his "work".

If you had done ANY reading or research you would've known that all the cast members and director said they are dead. EVEN THE SYNOPSIS OF THE MOVIE CLAIMS SO. It was not a secret. The movie is NOT spoiled simply because you know he's in it because it reaveals things before his work. If I had spoiled it for you, I would've told you what things were revealed.
