Of course they do. they can be upset, bored, angry, lonely, afraid, etc., the same as we do

My dog when taken short went to the bathhroom and did it in the floor always next to the toilet. She used to get very upset at what she had done. She also interviened in any home disputes and got between people and barked until peace was resumed. The last bit is a bit sad my wife was dying and had only 3 weeks to live and you know what they both died together. That was some time ago and as I type this their picture together is right infront of me.

yes, very much so. People normally don't get animals. They may not talk, act or seem like us. But they see us, as we see them, an uncivilized species. (yes we ARE animals) If we look at animals, they will look back, and think, feel, wonder about us, like we do them.

I know cats get embarrassed - my cat does it all the time when he falls off the table! He checks round to see if anybody saw it then starts to clean himself and pretend everything's fine - if he didnt have fur I swear he'd be blushing!

Well, yes, but not the way humans have feelings. A lot of people try to personify their animal's behavior (e.g.- my dog crapped on the floor when I left, so he must be mad at me.), and that's just inaccurate.

I believe so, but not as complex or intricate as humans. Did you know people are the only living creature that has the ability to blush?

Well duh! My brother was annoying my cat the other day. You know what was the turnout? My cat bit my brother and then ran off. You don't have to be a genius to see that they do.
