Check your support decree. Almost certainly the decree states that he will pay YOU the money for the support of your child. You do not need to accept any payment not made out to you.

What's more, he's an idiot for making the checks out to his daughter as there would be no proof that he actually paid the support as ordered by the court! Point this fact out to him and he'll probably get his head out of his backside pretty quickly.

By making the checks out to his daughter, he's giving HER a gift, NOT making the support payments ordered by the court!

If he persists in this stupidity, file a complaint for non-payment of support with the local child support enforcement agency. He'll have no evidence of support paid, just a bunch of checks for gifts to his daughter. That will get his attention PDQ!

I guess this is one way he has to annoy you and make your life a little difficult. Have her sign the checks on the back payable to you and you can deposit them in your account. Most courts however, do not allow the fathers to pay child support directly to the child until they are 18 so I would check to see if he is in violation of the divorce decree. Since she is a minor she cant use this money to support herself. You could turn the tables and say that he gave her this money as a gift and you are still waiting for the child support checks that are supposed to go to you.

if it's just a regular personal check, she can sign it and then you sign under her name to cash it against your account.

or take it to your husband's bank and they can cash it. You might want to call the bank and ask if they need proof of ID of your daughter.

Why is it not paid through the CSEA? You may want to contact them since he's being such a snot, but yes, if she signs and you sign under her, you can cash it or deposit it at your bank.

Your husband is correct. His obligation is to the children not to you.

It seems that, unlike other divorcing wives, you did not take him to the cleaners
