Almost every age we've ever experience was a direct result of our technology. Copper age, bronze, Iron. The ages of enlightenment, exploration, and steam. All products of advancements in technology, even More so with the communications age and the information age. All that aside, simple things come from simple "big" jumps in the application of technology, the highway system changed the way societies live their lives. Electricity, TV, new papers, shoot the ability to print the bible so that everyone could have it, shoot brought about most of our religious revolutions, well within Christianity itself at least. But that's not even the true kicker the fact is its reciprocal role, in which the society determines in large part WHERE the new technologies would be, which THEN would effect the society in a way, to propitiate NEW technologies in new directions. So really you can't answer your question truthfully without explaining the fact that they affect each other. But a cool thing about this is that the technology can tell you alot about a culture.... alot....

Now days it is extremely crucial to just have a cellphone, computer, etc.... Without a computer or even a house phone then there is almost no way of getting anywhere in the future. Teens have been brought up with technology all around them and therefore would have no way of knowing how to truly survive without them. If they didn't have the luxury of using a simple electronic, such as a remote, which is why so many Americans now are obese, then nobody would wind up being as braindead as they are today. I dare as many teens as possible to try to go without the use of a car, cell phone, computer, pager, ipod or any other kind of device for two days. I doubt that any of them would be able to handle it. They are so reliable on technology nowadays that it will forever hinder them and the generations after their generations from being able to live without all of the garbage. Teens have no Idea what it means to work hard. If they want to know the meaning of working hard then ask your grandparents. They will have stories lined up for you about all of the hard work they put in and they had NO technology to help them out. All factories now are ran by the press of a computers button. Back then people weren't overweight just for the fact that they had to do everything without the help of technology. Be grateful when you see your food on the table next and realize that if it weren't for the older generations hard work then teens wouldn't be here today enjoying luxuries such as an i pod...
