Yes just recently two guys tried to talk to me and I shut them down both followed me and I know them from where I live but I got scared for no reason :))I was flattered though that they wanted to talk to me and become friendly but you see I do not know either one of them.....
I like to be introduced to people and even then I am extremely on guard these days I think from past experiences of even dating Guys that I knew for years that their characters turned out to what i least expected on say a first date to dinner with someone I never really shut anyone out that I feel comfortable with I shut those out that I do not trust or I do not like their character once I get to know the truth of the person and trust me when I like someone or have interest In find everything hehe I guess that is why I am single hehe who knows to smart for BS if you know what I mean but I have hope and my heart is open and I think slowly you can allow another in if the person is worth it in the end :)) Good luck

I doubt that a person is "scared for no reason". There's some reason. It might not be immediately apparent what that reason is, but there's some reason you're scared.
Another poster said that she was scared by two guys following her.... well, two strange men following you is plenty of reason to be scared! Bad things have happened to women who are followed by strange men.
I think that every normal person has shut someone out when scared. It's a natural reaction. Most likely a survival mechanism. Even small children pull back and go quiet when frightened. For a child, the reason for pulling back can be as simple as the person being a stranger to them. I can see where a child who is frightened of strangers would have an advantage where survival is concerned.

Yeah. I am guilty of ending friendships without even communicating with the person. If someone does me wrong in some way then I just shut them out of my life. No discussion. It is the cowardly thing to do, but I hate confrontation. I am in the process of changing a lot of my bad ways.

If I felt scared then there was a reason, intuition or something, but you learn to follow your intuition to protect yourself from harm!!

I did this once, I feft such deep love for him, and I knew he loved someone else, he really cared for me, and told me I was like family to him, but my love for him was just to much for me to take seeing him, so I cut him out of my life, I just couldn't go lusting after someone that belonged to someone else....I still miss him so much, but he does know how much I love him, and he respects what I did, but I miss him so much
