Maybe we get caught up in other things and don't set aside the time to do for ourselves. A lot of us put ourselves last, giving time to work or family. For some people, it may be a subconscious feeling of not deserving things for themselves. For others, it's more of a time-management problem. Myself, I tend to take on more than I can do realistically. I'm slowly learning not to take on as much.

We're too busy giving to others and somehow with all we give to others, we think we don't need/ deserve what we said we'd do for ourself. I've been there and done a million times! Don't get caught in this trap. It's not always just about everybody else, if you don't take care of you, you will be no good to anyone else. Besides, you're the only one of you we get. God isn't making more of "you"...

It is because we, especially us women, give more importance to our loved ones and keep ourselves way down in the list of priorities. Being a mother puts many demands on our time and energy. I have been planning to get a pap-smear and mammography done for a long time but keep putting it off because something or the other keeps cropping up. Maybe secretly I wish someone(in the family) will think I am important enough to be taken care of.

Men, I have seen, do not let anything come in their way. They do what they have to do for themselves without a thought for anyone else.

If it envolves $$$ I usually end up spending it on some one
else! Other things I just some times put it out of mind and on the shelf until I'm in the mood, and or I have a long list that
I some times have not the energy to get it done.

Hi Rena, My life can be very hectic and busy to the max. I have a lot of responsibilities. I do have tendency of forgetting myself in my haste. The purpose of serving the lord is to be unselfish. So by putting others first.its the correct way to go.

I am very bad about doing things for myself!! I feel much better when I spend my time doing things to make others feel better!! I guess my low self esteem plays into it, thinking I don't deserve anything for myself!!

I often am so busy doing for others that I forget self until I realise that I can be no good for others when I am not first good to and for myself.

Life is what happens when you are making other plans, we often tell ourselves we will do this, or do that, and likely something else gets in the way....that is existence....
