First, let's define psychological abuse. Do you mean nagging, whining, and overbearing? That's not abuse. That's just being a shrew. But if she's making the man live in constant fear for his life, that's abuse.

Physical abuse gets far more recognition than any other kind. Women, too, are faced with psychological abuse, and no one does anything about it.

The fundamental flaw in your question is how you prove psychological abuse. Physical abuse tends to leave physical evidence. Psychological abuse leaves psychological evidence, but that's pretty hard to collect for the purpose of charging someone with a crime. Plus, do you really think that psychological abuse is restricted to one gender? Men psychologically abuse women, too. And don't get a slap on the wrist. When psychological abuse crosses over into something that is criminal - stalking is probably a good example, there should be equality. Just as their should be with assault. But as someone else noted, it's very hard to equate the two. (Even though psychological abuse is probably MORE damaging.)

I think the solution is to raise your kids to be emotionally strong so they won't be psychologically abused by anyone when they are adults.Crying about it won't help.
If you are already a man you have to figure out a way to make yourself emotionally strong( not closed off to people, but strong)

I don't think anyone should psychologically or physically abuse anyone.

Words continue to hurt long after physical scars go away.

From your comparison, I'm assuming that you consider the two to be the same. Okay, so lets work with that.

It is presumed that a woman cannot adequately defend herself from physical abuse due to her lack of physical strength. So, I guess that means that a man cannot defend himself from psychological abuse because of his lack of mental strength.

Thanks for clearing that up for us...

i do agree with u. do they want equality? but the thing is that our society where a man has to be strong and has to do all these things. so if a man claims a woman did it people will laugh at him and wont believe it. but in the other realm it could be the opp of what ur questioned asked

Psychological abuse and physical abuse are two completely different issues.

EDIT-They can't be compared, is all that I'm saying. Don't get defensive. :)

I was assaulted by three women in school.

In fifth grade, a teacher slapped me for the crime of smiling at her.
In eighth grade, a teacher assaulted me with a ruler because she thought I was talking in class.
In ninth grade, a teacher slapped me because the guy next to me was bugging me and I told him to stop (he got slapped too).

All of them got off scot free. Yeah my mom went and yelled at them (my dad didn't go - wanna guess why?) but although they didn't assault me after that, they never got punished.
