Whereas men in general are more independent and have more dignity and would rather have freedom and take care of themselves and their own than having to kowtow to anybody just to get a hand out? Are the wimpy needs of women weakening this counry?

I hate to say it but you do have somewhat of a point but I think that one reason is that women don't have such big egos as men. They do tend to make a lot of sacrifices for economic security, some stay with men who beat them up.
Probably not very popular at all and you know it!

They often give more weight to the emotional argument which the liberal social policies favor. They also give more weight to the emotional security argument that many conservatives policy favor.
So they are only weakening the social policies of the country but at the same time are strengthening the security policies.

You have probably managed to alienate many women by your question. There is no real association between socialism and security. There is even less association between conservatism and independence and freedom. The answer to your question is therefore, no.

The women are liberal because they realize their own strength. Earlier they were subordinating the masculine power. Now they are exhibiting the feminine power.
