I bought a book "The War Against Men--Why Women are Winning and What men must do if America is to Survive." In just the first pages of the preface, I'm learning of some serious claims by the author that American men are under attack in nearly all areas of life and that women have made tremendous gains in the last 30 years. There's something about Feminism infiltrating the public school system. I can't wait to read on. What do you think? Is there a war against men in America and in the world?

"Men have been driven out of the teaching fields, especially in the early grades. What is interesting is the continued claimed that girls are discriminated against in the early grades, yet the teachers are nearly all women.

Another good book is Women Can't Hear What Men Don't Tell Them by Dr. Warren Farrell, who served on the first board of directors of N.O.W.

Oh, please. For once, you actually have to compete on your brain power rather than just because you have testicles, and the whining never stops from some men.

"Waaaah! I can't get a job just because I'm male. Waaaah! That woman is smarter than me! Not fair! Mommy, not fair!"

TRACEY did you know that for some political parties there is an X number of women that need be taken and that if you dont have the X number of females in your party your breaking the law??

Let me arrange

"Waaaah! Im so lucky to be a women and have a vagina because i dont need to be smart to have that job!"

Im not saying in anyway that women are not smart

teaching has been a traditionally female field. it was one of the few fields open to women, so it remains to be popular. also, most women are more interested in health and education than other areas - in so far as choosing a job or preferring where tax dollars should go.

men are still worshipped in this country. just about every building, stadium, street, park, etc. in this country is named after a man.

even though women now have higher rates of earning a college degree, men are still earning more money. mainly b/c they take more financial risks but there are other reasons.

warren farrell is a crack pot. he's getting publicity b/c this is now the "fathers generation" and anything geared towards that will get a spotlight.

i'm all for constructive positive fatherhood or masculinity, but this is ridiculous.

are they now handing out degrees in fear-mongering or what?

J's leather emporium is right. Stop whining! (note the correct spelling, too)

The example you give regarding teaching just means that women and men are equal in this profession. If you want to be a teacher, go for it. Just expect that the women who apply for the job too will be on equal grounds with you.

of direction no longer, women persons are merely learning that there place isn't cleansing and cooking, its even in the event that they choose and a few women persons are extra advantageous than men in shape and mechanical and stuff!

Yes, and school (college, too) is one of the biggest manifestations. A couple of things to keep in mind are that while that is going on, men are calling out bad behaving women more than they have in decades lately. Also, no matter how bad what you describe gets, there will still be sweet, wonderful women to be found.

The Violinist,

You are comparing apples and oranges. You bring up a very pertinent racial issue but that is really irrelevant on this gender forum. Perhaps it so happens that there are more black male teachers than black female teachers, which is why they got hired.

Yes, I think there is a subtle war against the male gender, specifically younger ones, and it's both women and men who participate in it. Mothers and fathers unwittingly do so too by not standing up for their sons' violated rights in school.

Do you believe ev erythding any moronic nut case makes up?

No, the only war is that of sub-human freaks who refuse to accept that women are human beings, not property.

But they're dying off, and soon the world will be free of their mindless hate.

"Men have been driven out of the teaching fields, especially in the early grades."

Really? In every school that I've been to they've used affirmative action but in favor of men, my middle school had even started firing white, female teachers to hire more racial minority male teachers. My teachers have almost always been all male teachers or mostly male teachers with one or two female teachers.

I believe this is the case with many schools.

Sandstorm-
The point is is that they were firing great teachers for less qualified, not as experienced teachers just so they wouldn't look sexist towards males or racists towards racial minorities.

Affirmative action is a very silly thing, very stupid.

EDIT-LOL at umake.

I think women are taking the feminism thing a bit too far and they are too picky with choosing their men, it is getting harder to satisfy their increasing demands in so many areas of life.

If there were a "war" there would be men fighting, but most just lay down & lick the boot that kicks them.

It's more like a slaughter, actually.

More men are waking up all the time, though so... the war isn't far away.

EDIT:

(J's leather emporium)

Maybe the feminists should have "grown some & stopped crying", too.

Oh, no wait... when women fight for their rights it's noble & just.

When men do it, they're just a bunch of whiny little babies.

I forgot.
