There is a rumour that his father was Harry Hewitt rather than Prince Charles...allegedly....

The late Diana, Princess of Wales had a long term affair with James Hewitt, a former British household cavalry officer. Diana admitted in her famous Panorama interview that she had committed adultery with Hewitt, saying, "Yes, I adored him. Yes, I was in love with him." As Diana was then the wife of the Prince of Wales, heir to the throne, this would be high treason, if prosecuted. The affair ended in 1992.
In 2002, Hewitt strongly denied long-standing rumours that he was the natural father of Prince Harry. He claimed that Harry was a toddler by the time he met Diana (Harry was born in 1984). However, in a 2005 interview with the television company Making Time Productions, Hewitt admitted under hypnosis that he had met Diana in 1981 or 1982 and that their affair began shortly afterward.
Prince Harry does look simliar to James Hewitt and nothing like his father Prince Charles or brother Prince William. However, there is a logical explanation for looking a bit different as his appearance does resemble more of Diana's side of the family. He looks very much so like his uncle, Charles Edward Maurice Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer (Diana's younger brother), and Prince Harry's two aunt, Lady Sarah McCorquodale (Diana's elder sister) and Lady Jane Fellowes (Diana's second elder sister).

Because of his uncanny likeness to one charming James Hewitt (I think that's his first name) a likeable rogue who Diana had an affair with probably because he paid attention to her - it started by him giving her riding lessons. But although, this may be true he does have the look of Charles sometimes too. I think the dates do not co-incide anyway and I am sure the royals have all had blood tests. I love the boy and his zest for living even with all this debate about who his father is. Hewitt has done very well out of his relationship with sad Diana but I don't think this cad ever claimed to have sired Harry. One thing I know for certain sure, the public will never know ever, and thats a good thing.

It's believed that his father is James Hewitt and not Prince Charles.
Royals have been notorious for their extra marital affairs. Charles was in one for many years.

Because people refuse to believe the truth even though both James Hewitt & Diana both told everyone that althoguh they had an affair, it did not start until Harry was around 2 years old.

Some people choose to believe that Hewitt is Harry's father because they think that both men having red hair makes them father-son.The two men don't look alike,but Hewitt himself bears a strong resemblance to Diana's father when he was younger.I don't believe that there is a connection between Harry and Hewitt;Diana had Harry two years before she began her affair with Hewitt.At the time of Harry's birth, Diana was still trying to make her marriage work,so I don't think that she would do something to further jeopardize her chances. Giving Charles an heir and a spare was important. And I find it quite telling that this ugly gossip reared its head AFTER Diana died and can not defend her son and her reputation! Hewitt began giving frequent paid interviews after Diana's death,when all of this sludge about Harry's parentage really surfaced.Isn't it curious that Hewitt,in his book about the affair which was published during Diana's lifetime,mentions that Harry was two years old at the time of his meeting Diana?Hewitt earned the nicknames of "The Love Rat" and more simply, "The Cad."
Harry takes after the Spencers. He looks more like his aunt Sarah, Diana's favorite sister,than any one else. And as he ages, he's taken on the deepset eyes and browridge of Charles and Philip.

Harry is a Spencer. Diana was one of 4 siblings and was the only one without red hair. Harry is the image of his cousin on his mother's side.
All this James Hewitt stuff is nonsense. She didnt meet him until 1986 anyway. I feel so sorry for Harry having to suffer these rumours.

Compare him to a picture of his real father when he was young. H.R.H. The Prince Of Wales has my utmost admiration for bringing up the cuckoo in an attempt to protect his late ex wifes memory !
