I always hated the thoughts of winter coming when I lived up north, especially the older I got. I lived in Ohio, US, right on Lake Erie, & she showed no mercy when winters came, as far as snowfall was concerned. I lived in the infamous "snowbelt" & when the lake effect snows began, they didn't quit until mid April. I can remember as a child, looking forward to them, especially when school was cancelled, but as an adult, who had to get out & drive in it, I no longer looked forward to the winters. It would snow non stop for three to four days in a row, which made me feel so shut in. I kept myself busy & made sure that my cupboards & freezer were full. It made the winters not so bad, knowing I didn't have to go out into that nasty weather, to buy food & other necessities. I also made sure that I had plenty of bathroom tissue. ~lol~ Those winters are behind me now, because I live in the south. Rarely ever does it snow here & if it does, it's only an inch, so they say. Everything shuts down if it snows here, as they have no snow removal equipment. (like you'd need it for just an inch) By noon, the residents say it's gone, once the sun comes out. It dips down into the high 20's to mid 30's at night, but the daytime temps are in the 50's. Can't beat that huh?

I'm a bit of both in Winter, I love the cold sunny dry days when the air is crisp and the ground hard, its great then but I hate the wet brown slush and the cold driving wind, even the dogs are not keen to be out for long then, I also love Frothy Hot Chocolate in front of a roaring coal fire, by about the middle of January I've had enough though and am anxious for Spring to arrive.

Looking forward to winter being over. Spring is my favorite time of year. In Minnesota the winter can be a brutally cold and miserable time to get through. No garage doesnt help when you have to leave early in the a.m. and l foot of snow and l inch of ice under that and you cant even get the doors opened. and then you get stuck just getting out of the parking lot. Is it april yet?

No, not looking forward to the Winter. Dark mornings, dark afternoons, cold weather, icy mornings, idiots on the roads, and as far as Christmas goes we don't like that either....the commercial Christmas that is. Early Autumn is lovely but late Autumn is not a nice time. Less sunshine puts us on a downer and we would like to hibernate until Spring.

No I hate Winter. I do not like the cold. I am a spring and summer person. I do like rain, but not the wind and cold that goes with it, and sometimes it is so foggy for days on end. It becomes depressing. I like to hibernate in the Winter. Can't wait for Spring to come back around.

I used to hate winter, but now as I've gotten older I'm kinda looking forward to it. Esp after we had such a dry, hot summer this year. I don't like it getting dark earlier when I have to travel to other states to visit, but I like the first snow, hot chocolate, winter clothes and of course, the holidays.

My clocks don't have to change, AZ doesn't have daylight savings time. I am really looking forward to winter. We have terrific weather and this past summer was brutally hot. I holed up in my place like a hermit all summer. I think I got cabin fever!

I live in the South now, so winter itself really isn't that bad. It's just the getting dark early thing that I don't like. Things that I like to do outside in the evening all just stop this time of the year....yard work, long walks, etc.

the older i get the more depressed i get as winter approaches.we have to depend on some one taking us to the store, and the dr,wich is over 60 miles away.and our electric bills in the winter are really hard to pay on a fixed budget.Christmas is a time for us to get together, that is the only thing good about winter.
