So, I’m a bit clumsy! I literally ran my kneecap into my door (really hard) last night. I rested on the floor for couple minuets (to recover from the intense pain), got up and it didn’t hurt too badly so I decided I probably didn’t break anything. When I initially hit my kneecap it got swollen, a little bruised, red, and felt a tingling feeling down my leg. Now (the next morning) it is just a little swollen and red and it hurts to put weight on it (like when I get up from sitting), bend it or touch the area, but it doesn’t hurt too much to walk on it. I really don’t want to go to the Dr.’s and find out its just bruised or something. I have broken a bone before (my arm and my toe) and both times the pain was different. Any who know what a fractured patella feels like? Anyone have any suggestions (other than just “go get an x-ray”)? Could it just be badly bruised?

I would say you just bruised it. If you fractured it you wouldnt be able to walk on it. Give it like two days and if it doesnt get better i suggest going to the dr.

Sounds as if you have just bruised it...if in a couple days it isn't better, then I would go see the doc. Stay off of it as much as possible, and ice it 20 min on 20 min off a couple of times a day and see how it is....
