I'm writing an essay and I need to know what Napoleon I's stance on religion was and how he dealt with religion in his empire?

i don't recall much talk being made of Napoleon and religion. undoubtedly he was a Catholic like the rest of France, but was mostly a military man and probably didn't have much use for it. i imagine that he knew it's usefulness to a ruler and kept to all the traditions and rituals like he was supposed to.

he was crowned in Notre Dame church.

i haven't heard much about Napoleon and religion. i know he made a lot of new rules, maybe he made some about the church.
